Let me explain all you need to know about the Tara-Lillie Blog.
Ahhhh! Welcome to my first blog post. I’m so excited but also incredibly nervous to be writing this and knowing that you are out there reading it. I am Tara McDaid-Sly, the mind behind Tara-Lillie Virtual Assistant. I’ve wanted to work for myself for a while now as not only does it fit my family’s lifestyle more, it allows me the freedom to choose my own hours and help numerous people who just need that second pair of hands. Anyway, now I’m waffling- I’ll waffle later….
I thought I’d use my first blog post to let you know more about me, my business and all the shenanigans you can expect to read about here.
Let me introduce myself.
So now I can continue waffling! It’s a little complicated and a running joke with those close to me that asking where I’m from just isn’t a straight answer… I was born in London, lived in Southern Ireland and have moved house more times than I can count. But when it all comes down to it, Lincolnshire is the place that truly feels like home. I live on the East Coast of Lincolnshire in the UK and am very lucky to be close to good old Skegness so do love the odd ice cream and crazy golf day.

My background actually comes from the Equine Industry. I have been involved with horses for over 20 years, I have a BSc Hons degree in Equine Sports Coaching and do adore being part of this incredible industry. I know, I know, why is this relevant? I have a part time yard job- which I love!- but I just needed that little bit more to help support my family. I needed to find something I could do alongside and decided working for myself was the best option. Up until recently I worked as a Personal Assistant in a small business and knew that its what I wanted to do. My family is so important to me and doing this allows me the freedom to enjoy the important things in life. I have Alex, my wonderful boyfriend and we’re dog parents to Kenny- a crazy ex racing greyhound who really takes zoomies to the next level and my horse, the stunning Twiggy… when she’s not pulling faces at you as she loves to play the grumpy old mare. In our free time we love going for long walks, being in the garden and doing work on our house. Oh and Alex is big into motorbikes!
So what can you expect to read in my blog?
This blog is going to be all about the weird and wonderful ramblings that go on in my head. But on a serious note I will be covering all things from business, gardening, organisation tips and tricks, and how I feel about a lot of things that are going on in the world right now. My goal for this business is for all my readers to find inspiration, useful advice and relatable and helpful content as a normal everyday person making their way through life. As you’ve probably noticed I write my content like I’m having a conversation because if you hide behind the perfectly curated paragraphs and professional words then how can people get to know you and in turn you know them.
I adore making connections with people! Please feel free to message/email/DM me letting me know a bit about you and if anything I have written resonates with you. I would love to get to know you!
Why the Tara-Lillie Blog?
I know a lot of businesses don’t always have a blog and when I was advised to start one, I had the full on scare moment… sweaty palms, heart racing and mind in overdrive. I can’t write!!!! And it’s true, I’ve suffered with writer’s block my whole life. And to be completely honest, I put off starting this for 5 hours because I’d convinced myself I’d never be able to do it. But hey ho, I’ve managed it now and I’m so glad I did. I’m one of those people who as long as I have an idea and the first sentence, then I can pretty much make something out of it. But the first sentence, oh boy that is my WORST NIGHTMARE!

I loved english at school and I haven’t actually written since then but now that I’ve started I can’t wait to carry on. So be prepared to be hearing a lot from me as I re-find my love of writing and sharing all the things I think are important to be talked about in our funny little world.
Thank you!!
Thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to read my first blog. I’m so grateful to you and hope you continue on with the rest. Please let me know any ideas or topics you’d love to see here and until next time have a wonderful day!
